 University of Veliko Tarnovo celebrated its 50th anniversary  On the 11th of May this year the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo celebrated its 50th anniversary. At the ceremony was attended by 50 Rectors from 50 Universities all over the country and abroad. For the official celebration in the old capital of Bulgaria the rector of the University of Veliko Tarnovo - Prof. Plamen Legkostup heartily welcomed to 120 scientists from 24 countries and guests from four continents - Europe, Asia, North and South America. Thr public holiday was held under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria - Rosen Plevneliev. The celebration program continued throughout the day with a parade, festive concert, where medals and certificates were awarded to all previous rectors of the University and the big patrons to the University.
