Musaka
Musaka is a traditional Bulgarian dish made from potatoes and meat which is cut in very small pieces. You can eat it also with yogurt.
The muska can be made also with marrow squash .
Derivative from the musaka is another dish called ogreten made from two kinds of cheese.
Here is the recipe for the musaka:
The potatoes /1-2kg/ are been washed , peeled and cut in small pieces. The onion /1/ is also cut in small pieces and damped with 1 tablespoon cooking oil until it gets soft. In this mix you put the meat and fried it until it gets aureate. After that you put 2 shredded tomatoes and the spices – salt, black pepper , etc. This mixture is put in a pan together with the potatoes. When all the products are mixed it’s need to be put water in the pan until it reaches 1-2 cm to the top of the pan. It’s cooked until the water is boiled.
After that it has to be overrun with the following topping: 2 eggs, 200g yogurt, salt and it has to be cook until the topping gets aureate.
